The town gave its name to the writer’s first novel, Quartiers de Pamplemousses (Julliard, 1999), which takes the reader through the kingdom of his childhood and sheds light on all his subsequent work. Pamplemousses, au nord de l’île, est le village natal et la capitale romanesque d’Alain Gordon-Gentil. Il a donné son nom au premier roman de l’écrivain, Quartiers de Pamplemousses (éd.
